As we welcome 2025, we take a moment to reflect on the progress made last year and the inspiring stories that fueled our mission. Thanks to your unwavering support, 2024 was a year of transformation for thousands of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Arizona. By providing access to essential identification documents, we turned obstacles into opportunities, empowering people to reclaim their lives and embrace fresh starts.
Reflecting on 2024
Last year, Homeless ID Project provided over 14,000 vital documents, including state IDs and birth certificates, to those experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes. Each document issued represents a step toward stability—whether it’s securing housing, gaining employment, enrolling in school, or accessing healthcare.
Our partnerships with organizations like UMOM New Day Centers, St. Vincent de Paul, and others across Maricopa County allowed us to expand outreach programs, reaching children and families in dire need. The stories we’ve heard, like that of Angela, a single mother who rebuilt her life with our help, remind us of the profound impact that a single ID can have.
Building Hope in 2025
Looking ahead, we are excited to deepen our impact in the community. Here’s what we’re working toward in 2025:
- Expanding Outreach Locations
We aim to increase the number of shared spaces and mobile outreach units, making identification services more accessible to underserved areas. - Strengthening Partnerships
Collaborating with over 50 human services organizations, we will continue to amplify our efforts and provide holistic support to individuals on their journey to self-sufficiency. - Advocating for Systemic Change
Advocacy remains a cornerstone of our work. We’re pursuing legislation to eliminate financial barriers, such as waiving fees for state IDs and birth certificates for those experiencing homelessness.
Your Role in Breaking the Cycle
Homeless ID Project’s success is only possible because of your support. In 2025, you can join us in making a difference:
- Donate: A $12 donation can cover the cost of a state ID, while $470 can provide 39 IDs, opening doors to opportunity. (You can donate any amount UP TO $470 and get it all back on your Arizona State taxes for 2024)
- Volunteer: Help us distribute IDs or spread awareness about our services.
- Advocate: Share our mission with your community to inspire change. We are active on all social media under Homeless ID Project. Follow along there for more updates you can easily share with your network!
